As Goreng moves through different levels of the prison, he faces moral dilemmas and sees how the system slowly destroys the lives of the people in it. The deeper you get into the prison, the more disturbing it becomes.
The film is a commentary on social inequality, survival, and human nature when placed in a brutal, unforgiving system.
